
A butterfly check valve is a valve that automatically opens and closes with the flow of medium, primarily used to prevent reverse flow of the medium and reduce the impact of water hammer effects on pipelines and equipment through a cushioning device.
Structural Features
The valve body is composed of a valve disc, a buffer device, and a micro-regulating valve, utilizing stainless steel seal face surfacing technology and a triple eccentric seal structure. The bore size range is 40-1400mm, suitable for water, oil products, and wastewater, with a working temperature up to 200°C.
Operating Principle
When the medium flows in the forward direction, the valve disc rotates and opens under the action of the medium pressure; when the medium reverses, the valve disc closes rapidly by about 80% under the combined action of its own weight and the medium pressure, followed by a slow closure of the remaining part through a hydraulic cylinder or spring, etc., to prevent water hammering.
Application Fields
Widely used in industrial water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, and pressure-assisted systems, particularly at pump outlets, it prevents pump reversal and medium backflow, thereby protecting pumps and other equipment.
