Fireproofing Castable Micro-Silica Powder Product Details:
Microsilica (White) for refractory materials, 96% SiO2 content, density 240-300 kg/m³, 20kg standard packaging.
Application Principle of Microsilica in Refractory Materials:
Microsilica is a super-fine solid material that, as a new raw material, has been widely used in the refractory industry. It plays a significant role in improving the properties of不定形耐火材料. It fills the pores of refractory materials, enhancing volume density, reducing apparent porosity, and significantly increasing strength; it has strong reactivity, forming colloidal particles in water. Adding an appropriate dispersant can enhance its fluidity, thereby improving the properties of casting materials. It possesses strong hydrophilicity, which strengthens the agglomeration of refractory materials and significantly improves their high-temperature resistance, extending the service life of refractory products. It is widely used in high-performance refractory castables and precast units, large-scale iron trough materials and steel ladle materials, permeable bricks, coating materials, self-flowing refractory castables, and dry-wet spray processes. It is also used in oxide-bonded silicon carbide products, corundum-mullite slabs, high-temperature wear-resistant materials and products, corundum and ceramic products. Additionally, it has been extended to varying degrees in the cement and construction materials industry.
Microsilica's role in refractory materials:
(1) Traditional refractory materials have numerous pores, filled with micro-silica powder, which increases bulk density and reduces porosity, significantly enhancing strength.
(2) Microsilica powder has strong activity, forming colloidal particles in water. Adding an appropriate dispersant can enhance fluidity, thereby improving casting properties.
(3) Microsilica readily forms -Si-OH groups in water, exhibiting strong hydrophilicity and activity. It enhances the cohesiveness of refractory materials and significantly improves their high-temperature properties, thereby extending the service life of refractory products.
Microsilica is actually applied in the refractory industry in the following aspects:
(1) Substitute for pure aluminum oxide mud as refractory material.
(2) As an additive, it produces both amorphous and shaped refractory products, significantly enhancing their strength and high-temperature properties.
(3) Used as a coagulant for the overall casting of steel drums.
(4) Adhesives, binders, accelerators, and additives for other refractory products
