The condensing equipment of a steam turbine is an essential component of a condensing steam turbine unit. Its function is to condense the exhaust steam of a condensing steam turbine into water, forming and maintaining the required vacuum. The performance of the condensing equipment directly affects the thermal economy and safety of the entire unit.
Condenser Working Principle
Condensing equipment serves as a cooling source in the thermal cycle of steam turbines, used to reduce the exhaust pressure of the turbines to improve the thermal efficiency of the cycle. The most effective way to reduce the exhaust pressure of the steam turbine is to condense the exhaust steam into water. Because if steam releases heat in a sealed container (a condenser), it will condense a large volume of steam into a small volume of condensate, accumulating at the bottom of the condenser. This creates a high vacuum in the space originally filled with steam. This is the simple working principle of condensing equipment.
The task of the condensate equipment is
(1) Establish and maintain a high degree of vacuum at the steam turbine exhaust to enhance the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
(2) Condense the exhaust steam from the steam turbine into clean condensate to be used as feed water for the boiler, and receive the thermal system.
