Chimney painting and coating, as well as beautification work for navigation buoys, generally involve two methods of operation, both requiring high-altitude climbing: ascending to the top of the chimney or a platform, then employing either (1) high-altitude suspended rope work or (2) high-altitude basket installation for the chimney anti-corrosion project.

Key Safety Points for High-Altitude Corrosion Protection Work

1. Chimney corrosion prevention work requires familiarity with the technical skills of this trade and all safety procedures.

2. Must be 18 years of age and pass a physical examination to perform high-altitude work. Individuals with hypertension, heart disease, epilepsy, and other conditions unsuitable for high-altitude work are prohibited from climbing.

3. Over 2 meters from the ground, with an incline of more than 45 degrees on the working slope, and if the working surface lacks a stable foothold or is subject to vibration, it should be classified as high-altitude work.

4. Protective gear must be worn neatly, pants legs secured, and a hard hat worn. No slippery, hard-soled shoes are allowed. A safety belt with sufficient strength is required, and the rope should be tied to a sturdy building structure or metal frame. Do not tie it to moving objects.

Before climbing, the construction supervisor should conduct on-site safety training for all personnel.

6. Inspect all climbing equipment and safety gear (such as helmets, safety belts, ladders, platforms, scaffolding, guardrails, safety nets, etc.) to ensure they are safe and reliable. Absolutely no risky operations are permitted.

7. Mark off restricted areas on the ground in high-altitude work zones and hang warning signs such as "No Trespassing" and "Access Prohibited."

8. Prior to working near power (low voltage) lines, contact for power outage first. Work can only be conducted after the outage is confirmed, and insulating barriers should be set up. Operators must stay 2 meters away from the power lines (low voltage) and are prohibited from working under high-voltage lines.

9. Tools, parts, and materials used for high-altitude chimney anti-corrosion work must be stored in a tool bag. No items should be held in hand during ascent or descent, and movement must be along designated routes; materials or tools should not be thrown from height. It is prohibited to stack tools or materials that may roll or slide on scaffolding, and they must not be carelessly placed. After completing the work, all items that may fall, including tools, materials, and components, should be cleaned up immediately to prevent injury from falling objects. When handling large components, reliable lifting equipment should be used.

10. Pay close attention to hazard signs and areas. Sufficient lighting must be provided for night operations; otherwise, construction is prohibited.

11. Strictly prohibited from performing vertical work simultaneously at both levels. In case of special circumstances requiring vertical work, prior approval from relevant leaders is required, and a protective shed or other isolation facilities should be set up between the two levels.

12. Absolutely no resting in elevated areas without guardrails to prevent falls.

13. Plyboards longer than 3 meters cannot accommodate two workers at the same time.

14. Walkways, ramp boards, gangways, and transportation paths should be kept clean at all times.

15. No aerial work is permitted outdoors when winds of level 6 or above are present.
