Special Installation Requirements for Sealing Washers

When installing flanges to match flat flanges, attention should be given to ensure that the sealing elements are concentric with the pipeline. Generally, a reinforcing ring and the inner circumference of the bolts are used for positioning, and eccentric installation is not permitted. When installing basic spiral缠绕 pads on the tenon and mortise flange surfaces, attention should be paid to the gap between the slot walls.

When installing metal gaskets with a narrow width, the thickness should be fixed on the outside of the gasket, then press against the flange to prevent the packing from bursting inside the compressed gasket, causing damage to the metal shell interface (or lap).

3. When the flange working temperature exceeds 200 degrees Celsius, sealant should be applied between the flange sealing surface and the gasket to prevent the gasket and flange sealing surface from welding together at high temperatures, thereby repairing and replacing gasket failures.

4. If the sealing surface is abnormal, apply sealing glue to the sealing surface and then install the gasket. Sealing glue is typically composed of red lead, manganese dioxide, graphite powder, and boiled linseed oil (oil). Select the appropriate type and grade of sealing glue based on conditions such as the sealing medium, working temperature, and medium pressure.

5. For installing octagonal metal ring gaskets, when the metal ring gasket and flange sealing groove are not well-machined, tight fit research can be implemented. Large-diameter metal ring gaskets are difficult to accommodate in research. To fill in the minor surface irregularities on the metal surface, sealant can be used.
