How to Install a Screw Actuator: Detailed Techniques

The screw-driven shutter has a compact body and simple structure, offering sturdy reliability. The operation for maintenance is straightforward, and the price is also quite affordable. Within the allowable length-to-diameter ratio of the screw, it can exert a closing force on the gate. The nut and screw have an anti-backlash effect, meaning the gate can remain at any position without slipping off by itself, ensuring safety. 

Generally, when installing the screw-driven shutter, maintain the levelness of the shutter base foundation, ensuring that the contact area between the base and the foundation is over 90% overlapping. The screw axis should be perpendicular to the horizontal plane measured on the weir deck, as well as perpendicular to the hinge holes on the gate plate, to prevent the screw from being crooked and causing localized stress that may damage the machinery. 

Place the manual screw-driven shutter in the installation position, fit a limit disk onto the screw, and thread the screw from below the beam into the machine. Once the screw is visible from above, fit the limit disk onto it. The lower end of the screw connects to the gate. It is crucial that the foundation for installing the shutter is stable and secure. 

The concrete for the machine base and foundation components should be cast according to the drawings. Do not remove or alter the temporary supports for the shutter until the concrete has reached the designed strength, and never perform trial assembly or operation during installation. Align the shutter according to the gate lifting centerline, ensuring that the longitudinal and transverse centerline errors do not exceed ±3mm, and the elevation errors do not exceed ±5mm. 

Then, pour the second stage of concrete or connect with pre-buried steel plates. The installation of the electrical equipment for the shutter must comply with the drawings and specifications, and all electrical equipment should be reliably grounded. After the installation is complete, clean the machine, repair any damaged protective paint, and apply lubricant.
