General Requirements for Liquid Level Meters for Carbon Dioxide Storage Tanks
Select based on the medium of the carbon dioxide storage tank, the maximum allowable working pressure, and temperature.
Prior to installation and use, liquid level gauges for CO2 storage tanks with a design pressure less than 10MPa are subjected to a hydrostatic test at 1.5 times the gauge's nominal pressure. For CO2 storage tanks with a design pressure of 10MPa or more, the liquid level gauges are tested hydrostatically at 1.25 times the gauge's nominal pressure.
3. For CO2 storage tanks containing media below 0°C, frost-proof level gauges are recommended.
4. For outdoor use in cold regions, select a liquid level gauge with a jacketed or insulated structure.
Level gauges on liquid carbon dioxide storage tanks used for highly explosive, extremely toxic, and highly hazardous mediums should be equipped with protective devices to prevent leakage.
6. A stable liquid level indicator is required; float-type level gauges are not permitted.
Installation Requirements for Level Gauges:
The level gauge should be installed in a location that is easy to observe; otherwise, additional auxiliary facilities should be added. Large carbon dioxide storage tanks should also be equipped with centralized control systems and alarm devices. The highest and lowest safe liquid levels on the level gauge should be clearly marked.
