After the glass-lined equipment vessel is positioned, adjust the thickness of the vessel lugs or the bottom support pad to level the height of the vessel's long-necked flange. Select the appropriate gasket based on the reaction vessel medium, working pressure, and temperature (special gaskets include: asbestosis with PTFE lining, nitrile rubber, and stainless steel corrugated lining with PTFE). Upon closing the glass-lined vessel lid, ensure the number of clamps is complete and intact (the number of clamps is specified according to the product completion drawing).
If damage is found, it should be replaced immediately. The clips (bolts) of the equipment must be evenly distributed and tightened in a symmetrical order, gradually and sequentially, without over-tightening. It is strictly prohibited to tighten them all at once to prevent excessive local stress on the flange, which could damage the glass-lined layer. It is also strictly prohibited to tighten a few clips excessively to eliminate leakage points.
To achieve a good seal, tighten the nuts and then introduce steam to soften the gasket before fully tightening. If there is a significant gap between the two high-neck flanges of the equipment (including manholes and pipe flange openings), it is permissible to adjust locally by adding a biasing gasket to ensure even distribution of force on the high-neck flanges and reliable sealing of the gasket. However, the material of the biasing gasket must not affect the operation of the equipment.
