A metal expansion joint is a type of flexible connector used on overhead straight pipelines with smaller diameters and higher pressures, where it's not convenient to install a main fixed support. It absorbs the axial displacement caused by the thermal deformation of the pipeline. Compared to the straight-tube pressure-balanced bellows compensator, it has the same displacement absorption capability, but is one-third less rigid. However, it experiences greater resistance loss due to flow velocity.
Composition of metal compensators:
Metallic compensators consist of a working bellows, a balancing bellows, a working pipe, a bypass pipe, and corresponding structural components. They are primarily used for absorbing axial displacements and balancing the pressure thrust of bellows, featuring good guidance, large compensation capacity, relatively low stiffness, small volume, and no need for a main fixed support bracket.
Features of metal compensators:
Metallic compensators consist of a working bellows and a load-bearing component. They feature a balancing bellows that is connected to the load-bearing component, with an effective area equal to that of the working bellows. The two ends of the working bellows are connected to the corresponding ends of the balancing bellows through the load-bearing component.
Structure and Principle of Metal Compensation Devices:
Metallic compensators are structured as bellows, internally consisting of pressure-balancing bellows and compensating bellows. They balance the pressure of the bellows compensator through the pressure-balancing bellows, compensating for the self-thrust of the pipeline.
Applications of Metal Compensators:
Metallic compensators resolve the thrust issue caused by blind plate force on fixed supports, thereby simplifying the design and construction of fixed supports. They can compensate for the axial displacement in the pipeline system, balancing the internal pressure thrust internally. This product is applied in high-lying pipeline sections where it is not suitable to install fixed supports.
