Gate valves are differentiated by bore size; those with large bores are called gate doors, utilizing electric and electro-hydraulic operation devices. Smaller bore valves are termed as gate valves, predominantly operated manually, and are used in coke oven flues to block the flow of flue gas. The gates are located outside the flue, avoiding corrosion from high-temperature flue gases and mediums. This not only reduces the resistance of flue gas flow within the flue but also ensures the longevity of the gates.
The plug valve is mainly composed of components such as the frame, valve plate, screw rod, nut, and actuator. It operates by the actuator rotating the screw rod, which in turn moves the valve plate up and down horizontally repeatedly, achieving the purpose of opening and closing the valve.
Features of Manual Plate Valves:
1. Manual plate valves are commonly used with discharging equipment or material silos. These valves feature simple installation with flange connections and come in both square and round outlet options. Available in dozens of sizes according to the diameter, they are used in industries such as waste incineration, steel mills, power plants, chemical plants, and construction materials.
The manual plug valve boasts advantages such as a simple and compact structure, reasonable design, reliable sealing, easy and flexible operation, small size, smooth flow path, low resistance, easy installation, easy disassembly, lightweight, material-saving, low flow resistance, and light weight.
3. Manual plug valve: Regular inspections of all transmission parts should be conducted during normal operation, and lubrication should be applied for maintenance.
Electrical plug valve usage precautions and features:
The actuating part of an electric plug valve is the valve plate, which moves perpendicular to the fluid direction. Plug valves can only be fully open or fully closed, not for regulation or throttling.
The electric plug valve's valve plate has two sealing surfaces. The common pattern of the plug valve's two sealing surfaces forms a wedge shape, with the wedge angle varying according to the valve parameters, usually 50 degrees. The valve plate of the wedge plug valve can be made into an integral unit called a rigid valve plate; it can also be made into a plate that can produce slight deformation to improve its processability and compensate for the deviation in the sealing surface angle during the manufacturing process. This type of valve plate is called an elastic valve plate.
When the plug valve is closed, the sealing surface can be sealed solely by the medium pressure, that is, the medium pressure pushes the sealing surface of the valve plate against the valve seat on the other side to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface, which is known as self-sealing. Most plug valves employ forced sealing, meaning that when the valve is closed, external force must be applied to forcibly push the plug plate against the valve seat to ensure the sealing integrity of the sealing surface.
