Background
The primary objectives of constructing a hydropower station are twofold: to generate electricity and to regulate water levels, mitigating flood risks downstream. During the wet season, the station stores water, and during the dry season, it releases it, which can create rapid and powerful currents posing significant dangers to the dam and downstream areas. To enhance the safety management of the hydropower station project and ensure the safe and orderly release of water from the reservoir, and to protect the lives and property of people along the downstream riverbanks, in accordance with regulations such as the "Emergency Management Measures for the Safe Operation of Hydropower Dam," the "Technical Specifications for the Flood Warning Broadcast System of Hydropower Stations," and the "Regulations for the Safety Management of Reservoir Dams," it is imperative to effectively implement the flood warning notification work and完善 the flood warning system of the hydropower station. Therefore, the construction of an efficient and reliable reservoir-hydropower station flood warning system is urgent and necessary.
System Introduction
The flood release warning system is a monitoring and management platform for the flood release (or water discharge) of hydropower stations and reservoirs. The monitoring center can remotely monitor the water level, on-site video images, and other information at the reservoir flood release outlets in real-time. In the event of an emergency flood release or regulated water discharge, the downstream warning equipment promptly issues warnings to prevent losses of human life and property caused by flood release or water discharge.
