Dianthus chinensis

Dianthus chinensis Morphological Features: The plant is hairless, diverse, with basally clustered grass-like leaves. The stem and leaf junction forms a sheath, with a diameter wider than the stem. Flowers are clustered, with a cylindrical calyx that slightly narrows at the top. Like all Dianthus species, there is a series of opposite bracts surrounding the calyx, about half the length of the calyx.

The flowers have veining, a diameter of 20-30mm, deep pink, with 5 serrated petals.

Grows in arid regions, grasslands, and open woodlands. Prefers cool and temperate environments.

Beyond Greece, it spans across the Mediterranean region; it's also widely distributed in central and western Europe.
