Coreopsis, a perennial herb of the genus Coreopsis in the Asteraceae family. Native to the southern United States. The leaves are mostly opposite, with solitary flowers or sparsely paniculate inflorescences, involucres in two rows; basally fused, with a single row of ligulate flowers, wide ligulate, and tubular flowers ranging from yellow to brown. The biennial Coreopsis blooms from late May to early June in early spring, continuing until mid-October. It is cold and drought-resistant, has no strict soil requirements, prefers sunlight but tolerates semi-shade, is highly adaptable, and exhibits strong resistance to sulfur dioxide.
