PVC pipes are categorized into two types: water supply pipes and drainage pipes, which are used for municipal water supply and drainage, industrial water supply and drainage, civil water supply and drainage, irrigation, and vegetation watering. The main connection methods for PVC pipes include sealed gaskets, adhesive bonding, and flange connections. Pipes with diameters of 100mm or more typically use gasket joints; those with diameters less than 100mm usually employ adhesive joints, with some using flexible joints. When crossing sewers or other pipes, metal pipes are generally used, and in this case, plastic pipes are connected to metal pipes using flange connections.

The connections between valves and pipes are also all flanged.

When solvent bonding small-diameter pipelines, it is necessary to chamfer the socket ends slightly to form a bevel, ensuring that the断面 is flat and perpendicular to the axis. This ensures a strong bond and prevents leaks.

2 PVC pipes with a nominal diameter of 100mm or more typically use gasket joints. It is mandatory to have personnel chamfer the pipe ends before installation and to inspect the quality of the gaskets for compliance. During installation, the sockets and gaskets must be cleaned thoroughly.

For traditional pipeline installations, the excavation of the trench only requires the ability to place the pipeline into the trench and to seal it properly. There is no need to compact the sub-layer with pressure if the original soil layer remains undisturbed.

4. Typically, PVC pipe branches can be split using tees or vertical stopper valves. During construction, a half-horse shoe fitting and a half-union tee can be added, secured with U-bolts, which thickens the pipe wall. Then, drill and thread the hole directly on it, and connect with external threaded plastic fittings. Tests have shown that this method of construction can fully meet the standard requirements for pressure testing. Additionally, at locations where water flow generates thrust, such as elbows, tees, and pipe end covers, thrust blocks should be installed to bear the water flow's thrust.

As a new type of non-metallic pipe, 5 PVC pipes cannot be detected by existing metal pipeline detection equipment. However, this issue can be easily resolved by burying a wire above the pipe during the pipeline installation process.
