Product Description
This product is a component of the Resin Asphalt Composite System (ERS).
The paving on the bridge deck is composed of a three-layer process of EBCL+RA05=SMA.
ERS paving technology utilizes a bonding layer with good adhesive properties, EBCL, to firmly bond the paving layer to the steel plate, preventing the occurrence of displacement diseases.
EBCL(Epoxy BoChips Layer) serves as a waterproof and anti-slip adhesive layer. Its primary film-forming material is modified epoxy resin, which, through block reactions with high molecular weight epoxy resin and aromatic diamines, forms a waterproof and anticorrosive adhesive layer that combines both bonding strength and flexibility.

Construction
During EBCL paving, the paint consumption is typically 1.2 to 1.5 kg/sq. meter. Sprinkle 3mm to 5mm basalt aggregates (with a coverage of at least 80% of the paint surface), forming a durable waterproof and anticorrosive layer that securely bonds碎石 and EBCL to the bridge deck, ensuring waterproofing and anti-slip shearing at the paving interface.
EBCL's coating film material has a glass transition temperature as high as 110 degrees Celsius. During asphalt paving, its surface can withstand temperatures up to 250 degrees Celsius, thereby preventing damage to the waterproof and anticorrosive layer's structure due to high temperatures.
Advantages
1. Exhibits excellent tensile strength, with epoxy resin as the main film-forming material, the tensile strength after curing can reach above 8MPa.
2. Excellent adhesion; substrate can be steel plate and concrete.
Adhesion on steel plates is 5Mpa, and on concrete is 3Mpa.
3. Excellent elasticity, with a break elongation rate up to 180%.
4. Shear strength up to 4.4 Mpa
5. EBCL bonding material exhibits excellent frost-thaw resistance, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, UV radiation resistance, weather resistance, and aging resistance. It boasts high water resistance, does not swell or effervesce when soaked in water.
Importance of EBCL
The primary cause of displacement failure in bridge deck paving is insufficient shear resistance between the steel bridge deck and the pavement.
2. As the waterproof and anti-slip adhesive layer for the ERS steel bridge deck paving scheme, the strength of the EBCL is of decisive significance to the safety of the entire paving layer.
3. The tensile test results indicate that the EBCL in full curing state exhibits excellent tensile strength at low temperatures (-20°C).
4. After curing, EBCL can be categorized as thermoplastic. At low temperatures, the molecular activity decreases, and the carbon atoms at the alpha position exhibit strong conjugation, making the cured coating difficult to stretch or deform.
5. At higher temperatures, the carbon atom at position 'a' loses conjugation, exhibiting a tendency to be stretched.
The EBCL coating, after full curing, must exhibit a shear strength of not less than 3Mpa at room temperature and not less than 1Mpa when the temperature exceeds 70°C.
