Vacuum System DescriptionVaccum System)
The vacuum system is a diffusion pump unit, consisting of a diffusion pump and a scroll-type Roots vacuum pump. It includes a high-vacuum diffusion pump, water-cooled baffle, scroll vacuum pump, electromagnetic vacuum filling valve, high-vacuum pneumatic baffle valve (main valve), high-vacuum pneumatic baffle valve pre-evacuation valve, high-vacuum pneumatic baffle valve (exit valve), preliminary pipeline filling valve, connecting pipeline, seals, composite vacuum gauge, and electrical control cabinet, etc., forming a suction system.
2. This unit is not suitable for extracting gases that are corrosive to metals or react chemically with pump oil. It can serve as a high vacuum acquisition device for high-tech equipment such as vacuum smelting, vacuum sintering, vacuum heat treatment, vacuum coating, vacuum brazing, and space simulation experiments. The operating environment temperature is 5~40°C, with relative humidity not exceeding 85%, and cooling water temperature at 25°C ± 5°C.
3. The vacuum level is related to the suction capacity of the vacuum pump, the sealing of the chamber, and the degassing amount of the internal materials (such as the inner wall of the furnace, experimental devices, heat sinks, etc.). The ultimate pressure of this unit is 1×10-3 Pa, the operating pressure is 1×10-2 Pa, and the suction time is approximately 1 hour.
4. The diffusion pump cannot generate suction independently; it must be operated by a primary pump to reduce the system pressure to within the starting pressure required by the diffusion pump, typically ≤10 Pa.
5. A new water-cooled baffle is installed at the inlet of the diffusion pump, effectively preventing the return of oil vapor from the pump into the vacuum chamber, thus avoiding contamination of the experimental equipment.
6. To prevent the vacuum oil in the fore pump from flowing back into the diffusion pump chamber upon shutdown, an electromagnetic valve must be fitted at the intake of the fore vacuum. This valve will automatically isolate the system pipeline during shutdown.
7. Valves are all actuated by pneumatic means, offering convenient operation.
8. Upon initiating the vacuum pump, this system is equipped with a preliminary pumping line, where the gas to be evacuated is directly extracted by the primary pump without passing through the diffusion pump. This method prevents contamination of the diffusion pump by the gas inside the evacuated vessel (moisture, volatiles, impurities). Once the pressure inside the vessel drops to 10 Pa, close the preliminary pump valve and open the baffle valve, and the diffusion pump will then start normal vacuum extraction of the vessel.
