After renting out a diesel generator set, the generator rental technician should adhere to the following safety operating procedures.
(1) Automatic Status
1. Maintain the battery pack of the starting motor at the starting voltage.
Keep the radiator coolant level normal and the circulating water valve open.
3. Keep the oil level in the crankcase within ±2cm of the oil level gauge marking.
4. The fuel tank is half full or more, and the fuel supply valve is kept open.
5. The "Run - Stop - Automatic" switch of the generator control panel is set to the "Automatic" position.
6. The mode switch of the unit distribution panel is in the "Automatic" position.
7. The radiator fan switch is set to "Automatic" position.
8. Upon receiving the signal of municipal power failure, the unit activates. Confirm the power outage, disconnect the municipal power switch in the transfer cabinet, close the generator switch in the transfer cabinet, and start the intake and exhaust fans in the machine room.
(2) Manual Start
1. When the indoor temperature is below 20°C, turn on the electric heater to preheat the machine.
2. Inspect the machine and its surroundings for any debris that may hinder operation, and remove it promptly if found.
3. Check the crankcase oil level, fuel tank oil level, and radiator water level. If the oil or water levels are below the specified values, they should be topped up to the normal position.
4. Check if the fuel supply valve and the coolant shutoff valve are in the open position.
5. Check if the starting battery pack voltage is normal.
6. Test the switch button on the distribution panel and observe if the alarm indicator lights are connected and illuminated.
7. Verify that all switches on the distribution panel are in the off position, and that all meters indicate zero.
8. Turn on the intake and exhaust fans.
9. Press the engine start button to initiate operation. If the startup fails, press the corresponding reset button on the distribution panel, wait for the alarm to clear and the unit to return to normal status before attempting a second startup. After startup, the machine operates with normal sounds, the cooling pump indicator light is on, and the instrument panel readings are normal, indicating a successful startup.
(3) Manual Operation with Parallel Power Supply
1. The oil temperature, water temperature, and oil pressure of the generator to be paralleled have reached normal values, and the operation is normal.
2. The output voltage and frequency of the inverter generator should match the values on the busbar.
3. Set the synchronizer handle of the generator to be connected to the "Close" position.
4. Observe the indicator light and pointer on the synchronous indicator.
5. Observe the indicator light on the sync indicator; when it is completely off or the pointer rotates to zero, you can close the switch and energize the circuit breaker.
6. The unit enters parallel operation, followed by rotating the synchronizer handle back to the "Off" position.
7. If the synchronizer pointer rotates too quickly or in a counterclockwise direction after the synchronizer is closed, the paralleling of units is not allowed. Otherwise, it will cause the closure to fail.
8. After manual paralleling is successful, immediately contact the low-voltage power distribution room to verify if the main switchboard's outgoing circuit breakers can be closed to supply power before proceeding with the operation.
(4) Operational Security Management
1. Check all indicator instruments according to the specified time, pay attention to the oil pressure and water temperature changes. The oil pressure must not be lower than 150kPa, and the cooling water temperature must not exceed 95°C.
2. Check the oil level in the crankcase, fuel tank, and radiator. If below the normal level, it should be topped up.
3. Regularly observe the operation of the distribution board's instruments and alarm indicator lights to ensure they are functioning properly. A red light indicates a fault, while a green light signifies normal operation.
4. Check if the charger is charging normally.
5. Listen for the normal operation sounds of all parts of the machine.
6. Check the temperature of the shell of the hand mold, bearing section shell, oil pipes, and water pipes to ensure they are within normal range.
7. Be attentive to any burning or electrical odors from the machinery or electrical equipment.
8. Any adverse conditions should be addressed immediately; severe issues should result in machine shutdown.
9. In case of any malfunction that leads to a shutdown, the issue must be resolved before pressing the reset button on the equipment. Only then can the unit be operated again.
10. Record no less than two times per shift for each operating parameter.
Parking
1. The master control screen's output feed switch is opened, disconnecting from the power grid.
2. Shut down the generator after it has been running at no load for 10 minutes.
3. Shut down the fans, cooling water pumps, etc., in the server room.
