GZ-Ⅱ Explosion Suppression Type Flame Arrester Overview: Due to the varying applicable media and operating conditions of explosion suppression type pipeline flame arresters, their structural dimensions can differ significantly. Generally, based on the technical information provided by the customer, we first provide high-level drawings from our company, followed by customer confirmation, and then no external dimensions are provided. Pipeline flame arresters are categorized into explosion suppression flame arresters and explosion suppression flame arresters. Installing flame arresters on pipelines or at the top of storage tanks is to prevent the spread of flames. In non-technical terms: deflagration refers to rapid combustion at a speed below the speed of sound; detonation refers to an explosion or gas propagation at a speed above the speed of sound.
Note: The flame arrester at the top of the tank must be connected in combination with the breathing valve to ensure the required air volume. The selection differences among various flame arresters depend on the nature of the flame: spread speed, pressure, etc. Since fire or combustion can occur, there are three essential elements: oxygen, high temperature (flame), and a combustible medium. The principle of flame arrester operation is to remove high temperature. The principle of removing high temperature is: wall effect or also known as heat exchange effect.
The selection of fire dampers should consider the following conditions:
Gas classification, working pressure, pipe diameter, safety gap MESG, ignition distance, pipeline distribution, and other factors are considered, hence: As a follow-up safety device, the selection of a fire arrester must be very stringent, requiring customized manufacturing, with the shell strength to be up to standard, especially for explosion-proof fire arresters. Choosing the right fire arrester is essential to achieve its fire-retardant effect; it cannot be used arbitrarily like general fire arresters on the market. In case of an accident, the consequences could be severe.
