1. Inadequate self-purification capacity of river water bodies leads to eutrophication. Oxygen has a certain solubility in water. Dissolved oxygen is not only a condition for the survival of aquatic organisms but also participates in various oxidation-reduction reactions in water, promoting the transformation and degradation of pollutants. This is an important reason why natural water bodies have self-purification capabilities.
It is evident that the self-purification capability and dissolved oxygen are inextricably linked; the amount of dissolved oxygen directly impacts the health index of the water body! Bottom aeration directly supplies the dissolved oxygen needed within the water body, enhancing its self-purification ability!
2. Reasons for preventing the tragedy of "upturning" in water bodies: This situation is difficult for any body of water to bear, especially in summer when sunlight penetrates the water, causing refraction and stratifying the water temperature (generally divided into three layers: upper, middle, and lower, with temperatures decreasing from high to low). When sudden heavy rain occurs, the upper layer of the water body, which is originally high-temperature water, turns into low-temperature water, leading to an upturning event (similar to the principle of hot air rising). The high-temperature water rises, while the low-temperature water (rainwater) continuously infiltrates. The upturning intensifies, and the organic matter (excretions, remains, and carcasses of aquatic organisms) at the bottom of the pond is stirred up, reacting chemically with a large amount of dissolved oxygen.
