Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), due to the general addition of short-cut steel fibers or polymer fibers, is also known as Ultra-High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC). UHPC differs from traditional High-Strength Concrete (HSC) and Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC), and is not simply a high-strength variation of the traditional "High Performance Concrete (HPC)." Instead, it is a new type of cementitious structural engineering material with specific performance criteria. Representative definitions and required characteristics are as follows:
● A cement-based composite material with an improved gradation of aggregate particles.
● Water-to-binder ratio less than 0.25, containing a high proportion of fine short steel fiber reinforcement material.
●Compressive strength not less than 150MPa; exhibits ductility under tension, retaining tensile strength of not less than 5MPa (French requirement: 7MPa) after cracking.
● Internally features non-communicating pore structures, offering high resistance to gas and liquid penetration. Compared to traditional concrete and high-performance concrete (HPC), its durability can be significantly enhanced.
