Unstable RPM and wandering of the diesel generator

1. Unstable idle speed: Refers to the phenomenon where the diesel generator fluctuates between fast and slow speeds while idling, without a strong regularity, and experiences vibrations. Additionally, the generator is prone to stalling during rapid deceleration, gear shifting, or under load. This issue is often caused by a malfunctioning governor.

The reasons for the analysis of diesel generator rentals occurring mainly include the following.

(1) Flyball Wear

(2)Idle speed spring has reduced elasticity or is improperly adjusted

(3) Incorrect Speed Spring Adjustment

(4) Low-pressure oil supply is insufficient or contains water and air

(5) Excessive wear on the cone bearing of the camshaft supporting the injection pump cam

2. "Floating Vehicle": The term "floating vehicle" refers to the phenomenon where diesel generators exhibit a cyclic and relatively regular pattern of alternating speeds at low to medium speeds. This is a result of the speed control response lagging excessively behind actual speed changes.

The reasons are mainly as follows.

(1) Internal lever of the speed regulator is loose due to wear on the connecting pin holes

(2) The fuel feed rod is not sufficiently flexible

(3) Improper Speed Control Spring Adjustment - Similar to the case of unstable idle when the speed control spring is improperly adjusted, the "drifting" symptom occurs because the speed control spring and the fuel supply ratchet lever cannot work together flexibly.
