Reasons for the 800kw diesel generator set not reaching its rated power

One: Low fuel pressure. Check if there is fuel in the fuel tank. Inspect the fuel line between the fuel tank and the fuel pump for any leaks or dented bends. Verify if air is entering the fuel system and if the fuel control valve is stuck, seized, or failed. Check the fuel pressure. The fuel pump outlet pressure should be 415kPa when the engine is operating at full load. If the fuel pressure is below this, replace the fuel filter element. If the oil pressure remains low, inspect the fuel pump.

Two: Valve clearance is incorrect. Adjust the valve clearance.

Three: Poor fuel quality. Drain the fuel from the oil tank, replace the fuel filter element. Add fuel to the tank.

Four: Power setting too low. Adjust the engine power according to the technical specifications on the engine brand.

Five: Carbon buildup in turbocharger. Inspect and repair the turbocharger as necessary.

Six: Check intake manifold pressure. Inspect the air filter for any blockages.

Seven: Air filter clog.
